Symptoms of Cardiovascular Disease

5 unexpected symptoms of cardiovascular disease

The sooner you notice a cardiovascular disease, such as a myocardial infarction, the faster the treatment, the better your prognosis. We identified five surprising symptoms of cardiovascular disease.

1. Cough

persists If there are no symptoms of a cold such as high fever, sore throat, runny nose, or general weakness, you can suspect heart disease if you only cough. Heart disease, such as heart failure, is accompanied by a dry cough and wheezing. The cough that develops in heart failure is usually a dry cough, characterized by a sudden occurrence while sleeping, and the cough may be somewhat relieved by changing posture. You should get a precise diagnosis through echo-cardiography.

2. Dizzy

You can suspect orthostatic hypotension or arrhythmia. A typical example of orthostatic hypotension is when you wake up in the morning, stand for a long time, or suddenly feel nauseous or dizzy and lose strength in your body while watching urine or feces in the bathroom. In the case of orthostatic hypotension, most of the symptoms are restored when you lie down and rest. Drugs such as diuretics and vasodilators that can cause low blood pressure should be prohibited. Arrhythmia can cause dizziness with a pulse that runs too fast, or runs slowly and irregularly.

3. The chin and gums are sore If the jaw and gums are hurt

and you hear that there are no abnormalities after going to the dentist or if you continue to receive dental treatment, you may suspect ischemic heart disease (angina or myocardial infarction). Chest pain, a typical symptom of ischemic heart disease, is characterized by 'radiation pain'. Radiation pain in ischemic heart disease usually leads to the left shoulder and armpits, sometimes spreading to the chin, neck, or back. Even if pain occurs in areas other than the chest, it is important not to overlook the symptoms and seek an accurate diagnosis by looking for a doctor.

4. Weight gain If you

have swelling of your lower extremities, such as your feet or ankles, or if your body is swollen and your weight has increased dramatically, you may suspect heart failure. Heart failure is the heart's ability to pump out as much blood as the body needs. There are many causes of heart failure. Representative causes include ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, arrhythmia, heart valve disease, congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathy, viral infections and diabetes. Heart failure may have no specific symptoms, but it causes sudden weight gain, fatigue, swelling of the jugular vein with blood vessels in the neck, difficulty breathing, and anorexia.

5. The legs are

frowning In the blood vessels of the arms, legs, and neck, as well as the heart and brain, blood vessels can be blocked due to atherosclerosis. Clogged blood vessels do not provide enough blood to the muscles, which can complain of pain in the legs, especially when walking or exercising. In particular, in elderly people over 65, if there is leg pain when walking or there is leg pain while resting, it is necessary to test for peripheral vascular disease
