Logotherapy is an interesting approach to dealing with psychological conflicts in life, and psychotherapy that helps people regain meaning. So it helps those who are struggling with the existential void to overcome this and reset their goals.

Perhaps we are feeling the inner emptiness despite “having everything.” Sometimes, despite their many achievements and possessions, they are not satisfied.

This is where Logotherapy begins.

Most of the traditional treatment paradigms have ignored some of the human psychological dimensions. For example, the need was often ignored in the sense of simply pursuing “get rid of symptoms”. However, logotherapy can add depth to treatment.

If you're curious about what logotherapy is and how it can help, read on.

                            What is logotherapy?

Logotherapy originated from the third Vienna School of Psychology and was born by psychiatrist and neurologist Viktor Frankl. The therapy appeared after Freud's psychoanalysis and Alfred Adler's personal psychology.

Frankle's approach is based on “will to meaning”, unlike Adler's theory to promote “will to power”.

From the point of view of logotherapy, the goal of human existence is meaning. But the concept becomes even more powerful when the founder, Victor Frankel, has been imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. Frankel's guess since found a way to understand their existence to survive in this dark experience. That is because he found the “logo”. It is driven from the Greek word for meaning something.

Logotherapy is a psychotherapy that helps people regain the meaning of their lives.

                                 Attitude is everything

No one can assert that we can overcome all difficulties. However, Frankl's experience at the Auschwitz concentration camp was, as you can imagine, terrible. But what he chose to survive was attitude before life. The fact that he took the right attitude during the difficult experience of World War II turned this traumatic situation into an experience.

                   Hypothesis and proof of logotherapy

Logotherapy has three basic pillars: anthropology, psychotherapy, and philosophy. From an anthropological point of view, Frankle takes the liberty of the will to make sure that humans can make their own decisions and freely choose their destiny.

“The ruins are often opening windows to see the sky.” – Victor Frankel

Meanwhile, psychotherapy promotes freedom of meaning. Finally, according to the logotherapy hypothesis, philosophy reaffirms the meaning of life.

                        Proven through experience

Victor Frankle knew the implications of actually living according to his assumptions. It was because he developed it while in a concentration camp.

There, Frankle realized the need to let go of everything he had assumed and accumulated. Instead, he was connected to the essential elements of existence.

Franklin soon discovered that this was a powerful way to discover something really important to us. When we start looking at the most basic aspects of the essence, life can regain meaning.

Through logotherapy, a person can free himself from disturbing himself and restore the meaning of life. Emphasizing the characteristics of the essence.

                                   Therapy Practice

It is easy to understand why psychological play is so important in therapy. In logotherapy, therapists often use adaptations with patients, which can eliminate unnecessary elements and look at the essence.

Here life is encouraged to face the fact that it can end at any time, but it doesn't make you afraid of it, but instead gives you strength.

Therefore, people can make meaningful changes. These are the changes people need to introduce into their lives to see the difference and achieve their sense of life, the “logo”. As Frankle said below.

“Man's Search for Meaning is not the title of an original book. This is human justice. It is because human beings are searching for meaning. ”

Based on his experiences in concentration camps, Frankle put all his ideas in a book titled <In Detention Camp>. One of the mysterious phrases of the author, belonging to the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, is:

“He who has a reason to live can endure almost anything.”

Logotherapy intervention is an existential dimension. Therefore, those who experience a conflict of values or who are in an existential crisis can benefit from courageously pursuing its meaning.
